Discouraged----Energy

Hey folks...this is our Tread girls sight..so you can catch up on all the wonderful (and not so wonderful) happenings in our lifes. Due to the three of us posting on here, make sure to scroll down so you can check out all our posts, not just the latest and easiest to read one. Enjoy!

I have been being haunted by a stinking cold all week and am trying so hard to get rid of it, but it just seems to be sneaking up to kill me. So I’ve officially decided that I will have to take a one week vacation in which whatever homework I should have gotten done is now cancelled. However, I’m not sure how I’m going to convince James and Dr. E. of this one. Maybe they will have pity upon my poor soul.

This week went bye real fast, it is Saturday all ready. Didn’t get out much this week and I wasn’t able to go for a jog either so that was a little disappointing. I spent a lot of time working in the library or at home on homework. I was able to go for a date with the girls have a few short walks and help out with the 30 hour famine at Courtney Middle.

(Our date on thursday night)
So thanks to Jill, I am now tagged and have to fill out this delightful little thing (which is really okay because I'm in need of a break from life right now anyways). Here we go!
Let's do this week day by day:
What a fantastic week! It seemed that this actual week went so quickly and then the weekend came and it was sweet. On Monday we had our last ‘official’ Intercultural Studies class, the only thing left to do is the 30 Hour Famine with a bunch of crazy middle schoolers. Tuesday’s history class was interesting (and somewhat confusing I will admit) and great job on the presentation Jeff. On Wednesday night Lindsay and I gave our presentation on our part of the scroll. It was really cool because what we were talking about lined right up with Easter. God is so cool how He does stuff like that. Lindsay and I were pretty excited that He did that. :D

I also had fun with Elsah, looking at pictures, singing and talking. Man, she was helpful!

Last night, I got to hang out with my friend Elsah and we had a sweet time just laughing and chatting. I was super tired and my brain was almost dead from all the homework I had been doing, but we still had a great time! Sometimes exhaustion really adds a great twist to humour. We laughed so hard and for such a long time too. I think my stomach is going to die if I laugh that hard again today!

So this week started off really good. We Tread students as well as: our teacher and his wife, James and Sonya with Izi and Eli, and Brian and Susan, went to Victoria for three days. We had fun shopping; playing games, going out for supper, but the best part of all was going to the Orthodox and Catholic Churches. I loved the Orthodox Church because of all the friendly people we met and the beautiful icons. Father Baxter the pastor introduced us to some of the things that went on in the Orthodox Church, some things of which I
thought neat and others I didn’t quite believe. I think the most interesting thing he talked about was the fact that they believed that Mary was a virgin before after and during Jesus’ birth. I am pretty sure the Bible tells us that Jesus in fact had brothers. Mark 3: 31 says, “Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him.” I liked the big stain glass windows in the Catholic Church. I found it interesting that, in the alter and pulpit, the Church had incorporated native art with their traditional art. I thought this was neat because Agnes, our tour guide, had said that the pagan art had some things that related to that of Christianity.
Well actually, I'm not going to compare Tread to Disney, they are completely different, with the exception of course of us girls randomly dressing up in Princess dresses and all of us doing things that greatly resemble Goofy (okay, maybe it's only me who does that, but hey!).
